Power Consumption and Voltage Supply
DDR3 XTUNE offers outstanding lower heat output enhancing system reliability
The ability to provide high-level gaming performance at nominal supply voltage is
an outstanding advantage of the DDR3 XTUNE series, with competitors having to increase supply
voltage up to at least 1.8 V to achieve their overclocking speeds. Maintaining the supply voltage
at 1.5 V reduces the amount of power consumed by up to 44% compared to currently available 1Gb DDR3
designs. Besides power savings, the real benefit is the lower heat output, which reduces
cooling requirements and enhances system reliability and life expectancy significantly. Further the
high-quality heat spreader, with which the XTUNE memories are equipped, helps improving the thermal
behaviour, as well.
