Definition:
Generally used term, although the original JGPSSI refers only to the Bromine and Chlorine
content.
The JIG 101 (IEC 61249-2-21 ) refers to all halogens (Fluorine, Iodine and Astat), but is now
under re-discussion as the expansion of the term to Fluorine, Iodine and Astat is not useful for
the semiconductor area.
Relating to the material:
The sum of the inorganic and organic content of Chlorine and Bromine is below 1500 ppm.
The content of Bromine is < 900 ppm.
The content of Chlorine is < 900 ppm.
The content of Antimony Trioxide (Sb
2O
3) is below 900 ppm.
The Brominated flame retardants need the presence of Antimony Trioxide to be really
effective,
