CMR-Substances

Legislation / Standard:

Some requirements of the Marketing and Use Directive (76/769/EEC) concern substances that have been classified as Category 1 or 2 carcinogens, mutagens or substances toxic to reproduction (reprotoxins) (CMR) under the Dangerous Substances Directive (67/548/EEC). The directive prohibits the sale of such substances and preparations to the general public. The concentration limits are usually > 0.1% for the carcinogenic and mutagenic substances and > 0.5% for reprotoxins.
